This pergola was built out of Douglas Fir Timber, and is certain to grab your attention as you drive by. We took this boring deck and added a full set of stairs across the front leading to the back yard. And dressed it up with a beautiful, thick pergola to help with some of that sunlight. The posts and beams are 8×8 in size topped with some 4×6 rafters. The timber was notched out to fit around the beams and everything was secured to the base with some Simpson Stong-tie Decorative Post holders. The peak of the soffit was also decked out with some cedar that was stained to match.
